The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting a full-time academic transfusion medicine pathologist to join 3 other TM physicians. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in transfusion medicine. Expertise in a large hospital-based blood bank and therapeutic apheresis is essential. Candidates must be qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin.
The individual will be appointed as a member of the department at the Assistant/Associate/full Professor level (non-tenure track) and will have responsibilities in Transfusion Medicine. The laboratory provides approximately 55,000 blood products annually to the UW Medical Center with support for comprehensive programs in cancer, transplantation, and trauma. The successful applicant will be expected to staff the blood bank and therapeutic apheresis services, oversee QA/QC activities, contribute to the clinical supervision and teaching of residents, transfusion fellows and medical students, mentor trainees, participate in continuing medical education programs and engage in scholarly research. One or more laboratory directorships may also be a part of this position.
