Medical Students Receive Pathology Honors

Angevine Award – Gino Rancone

The Pathology Trainee Educational Excellence Committee selected Gino Rancone as the 2025 Angevine Award winner. This award is given annually to a second-year UW-SMPH student at the end of Phase 1 for outstanding achievement in pathology.

CAP Distinguished Medical Student Award – Truman Do

Congratulations to Truman Do, recipient of a College of American Pathologists (CAP) Distinguished Medical Student Award. The award is given to a medical student, in any year of training, for outstanding achievement, aptitude, or interest in pathology. The award honors the student’s initiative in learning about pathology and participating in pathology-related activities.

ICPI Pathology Honor Society Awards – Akihisa Sakai and Caleb Scott

Congratulations to Akihisa Sakai and Caleb Scott, who were inducted into the Intersociety Council for Pathology Information (ICPI) Pathology Honor Society. Akihisa and Caleb are recognized for their scholastic achievements in the pathology curriculum, and for their research accomplishments and leadership potential. The Pathology Honor Society is the premier national award of the Association of Pathology Chairs and ICPI to recognize outstanding medical students.
