Work by members of Dave O’Connor’s lab is highlighted in UW news

Work recently published in PLOS Pathogens looks at the effects of serial infection with Zika and dengue viruses.

Work by Meghan Breitbach, Christina Newman, Dawn Dudley and other collaborators with the Dave O’Connor laboratory has been published in PLOS Pathogens and featured in the UW SMPH e-news. Their work, examining the severity of serial infections by Zika and dengue viruses in macaque monkeys, showed that an initial infection with either virus did not exacerbate symptoms of a second infection with the other virus.
