Alaa Alsadi, Clinical Informatics, and Wei Zhang, GI Pathologist, join the department on August 1, 2019.
Alaa Alsadi, MD, MS, received his masters degree in Pharmacology at Damascus University and his medical degree at Tishreen University School of Medicine in Latakia, Syria. He entered Pathology training at Rush University Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Alsadi completed a two-year fellowship in Clinical Informatics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Alsadi will serve as Medical Director of Laboratory Clinical Informatics with additional duties in surgical pathology.
Wei Zhang, MD, PhD, has just completed a Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. She has also completed a GI/Liver Pathology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein Medical College after finishing AP/CP residency training at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in NY. Dr. Zhang received her MD and Master of Science degrees from China Medical University and her PhD from Ehime University School of Medicine in Japan. Dr. Zhang joins the GI subspecialty service in surgical pathology.
