Residents Damodaran Narayanan and Oyewale Shiyanbola Receive Competitive Awards!

Damo Narayanan has won a nationally competitive American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) resident subspecialty grant for his away elective in Hematopathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. These ASCP grants are intended to provide pathology residents the opportunity to go beyond the material at their current institutions by expanding their experience, knowledge, and exposure to expert pathologists in their subspecialty area. At BWH, Damo will enhance his education in pediatric and molecular hematopathology and gain exposure to the latest molecular diagnostics in the field of hematopathology.

Wale Shiyanbola was selected to receive a Society of ’67 Scholars Travel Award to attend the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) 2019 Annual Meeting in July. The award covers travel, registration and lodging for the meeting where Pathology faculty, administrators and educators meet to network and exchange ideas with other academic Pathology leaders. Meeting programs will focus on current and cutting edge topics in practice management, medical education and research.
