Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin visited the AVRL laboratories of Pathology Professors Shelby O’Connor and Dave O’Connor where genomic sequencing is being used to track the arrival of virus variants in Southern WI. Senator Baldwin was joined by several others, including Chancellor Rebecca Blank, for the tour on Monday April 5, 2021. Dave O’Connor was one of several scientists consulted by Senator Baldwin prior to her introduction of a bill to fund an expansion of virus genome sequencing in the US.
