Dr. Ulland completed his BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA and went on to the University of Iowa where he completed a MS degree in Immunology and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology. His training continued with a postdoc in the laboratory of Dr. Marco Colonna at Washington University in St. Louis. As new faculty at UW-Madison, Dr. Ulland’s research will focus on the innate immune response to neurodegenerative diseases and, more specifically, the microglial response in Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
