Dr. Al Alsadi Named Associate Chief Medical Information Officer

I am pleased to announce that Alaa Alsadi, MD has accepted the promotion to Associate Chief Medical Information Officer (ACMIO) for UW Health. In this role, Dr. Alsadi will be joining Drs. David Kunstman, Heidi Twedt, Jennifer Passini and myself as a member of the UW Health Medical Informatics CMIO leadership team. Dr. Alsadi will be providing direct leadership for the Directors of Medical Informatics within the applied Radiology, Cardiology and Ophthalmology service lines working within the three Madison UW Health Hospitals (UH, AFCH and EMH) and our associated community health partners. He will also continue his current duties as Director of Medical Informatics for Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

Dr. Alsadi has been serving in the Medical Directorship role within UW Health Medical Informatics where he has demonstrated outstanding accountability and follow through with project ideation and progression, as well as support and mentoring for the partners within various practices of applied Clinical Informatics in our enterprise. Dr. Alsadi has a strong track record of building high-functioning, quality-driven clinical insights that are focused on delivering safe, patient-centered care while maintaining strong operational and data performance. Dr. Alsadi received his MD from Tishreen University, and his MS from Damascus University, both in Syria. In August of this year, Dr. Alsadi will complete his Physician Leadership Development Program (PLDP) here at UW Health.

Dr. Alsadi will continue to report to me and will begin his new role effective immediately. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Alaa Alsadi with this progressive promotion within Medical Informatics here at UW Health!
