Transfusion Medicine Services

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting for an academic position in the division of Transfusion Medicine on the non-tenure track. Fellowship training in transfusion medicine and board eligibility or board certification in transfusion medicine are required. An unrestricted WI medical license is required by start date, and experience in a hospital-based Blood Bank and in therapeutic apheresis is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to staff the blood bank and apheresis services along with three other colleagues, participate in QA/QC activities, contribute actively to the teaching of residents, transfusion fellows and medical students, mentor trainees, and participate in continuing medical education programs. The chosen candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. Opportunities for clinical laboratory directorships also are available.

The laboratory provides approximately 55,000 blood products annually to the University of Wisconsin Medical Center with support for comprehensive programs in cancer, transplantation and trauma.
