Surgical Pathologist

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting a generalist pathologist to provide clinical services to our growing health system. The successful candidate will be appointed as a member of the department on the clinician-teacher track at the Clinical Asst/Assoc/Professor level, depending on experience. This position will provide pathology services to a community hospital in Madison, WI, and possibly to regional outreach sites, and will participate in the Surgical Pathology subspecialty diagnostic service at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics. A large component of the job will include sign out on the Surgical Pathology service. Clinical pathology services will be limited to on call and outreach service, as and when needed. The position involves teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, particularly on clinical service. While research is not the focus of the position, the University provides ample opportunities for collaborative translational research.

Candidates must have an MD, DO, or MD/PhD and must be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Surgical Pathology Fellowship trained candidates will be given preference. Interest/training in Gastrointestinal and Liver pathology is desirable. Candidates must be qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin.
